At Outside25, we’re proud to support organisations that make a real difference in the Goring community. That’s why we’ve donated £2,500 to The Friends of Goring Library, a dedicated group that has been championing the local library since 1998. Back then, the library was at risk of closure due to council budget cuts, but thanks to the Friends’ tireless lobbying, it remained open. Today, it continues to thrive with the help of one council-funded staff member and a team of passionate volunteers who keep the heart of the community alive.

The Friends play a vital role in enriching the library experience. Their funding helps provide more books, supports a part-time assistant to extend opening hours, and enables the library to host events for both children and adults. Beyond the library walls, the manager works with schools and local groups—from the Cubs to the Macular Degeneration Society—to spread the word about everything the library has to offer. We were touched to receive a heartfelt letter of thanks from the Friends, and we’re delighted our contribution, through your donations, can help sustain such a valued space, keeping it welcoming, vibrant, and accessible for everyone.

Thank you.
